Frequently Asked Questions
1. How do we know you are a legitimate
tax attorney who can be trusted?
Answer: Mr. Brown is licensed to practice law
by two state bar associations. Their telephone numbers are listed
here for all credentials including
his extensive experience at the highest levels of the IRS.
2. Do you do business in my state?
Answer: We represent taxpayers in all 50 States
and also represent US persons living and working abroad.
3. How do I know if you can help me?
Answer: Call 888 712-7690 for a free consultation.
It is necessary for us to evaluate your problem by telephone in
order to determine the scope and extent of the assistance you
may need. We will not accept a client unless we are believe it
is likely that we can resolve your tax problem in a significant
way.
4. Do I need to meet you?
Answer: In order to keep your cost as low as possible
and to save time, it is best that we communicate by telephone,
e-mail, fax, and by mail. It is the philosophy of our law practice
to keep client costs as low as possible. E-mail is a preferred
method of communication - info@irstaxattorney.com.
5. Do you need to meet the IRS at the IRS office?
Answer: A meeting is a negative. If one communicates
with the IRS at a meeting, they will forget most of what you tell
them. We submit all factual and legal argument in a legal memorandum.
That way they must read it; it must be put into the administrative
file; their manager will read it; and if necessary, it is available
to be read by an Appeals Officer or the District Counsel. That
memorandum forces the IRS to follow the law and apply the facts
correctly.
6. What is the nature of your law practice?
Answer: 100% of all of our legal work deals with
IRS representation and intervention on behalf of taxpayers.
7. How do we know if you will live up to your
promise to provide tax law assistance?
Answer: All representations for IRS services will
be represented in a contract for services at your request.
8. How much do you charge?
Answer: Fees depend on the nature of our services.
We will give you an estimate of our fees during your free consultation.
In some situations (e.g., an Offer in Compromise) we can often
provide a fixed fee for all services.
9. How can we determine who is a good tax attorney?
Answer: Perhaps it is best to answer the question
with a question: is it better to use a tax attorney who worked
at the IRS or one who didn't? Obviously, you are advantaged by
an attorney with significant IRS experience, who knows how to
get the most out of the IRS, IRS policies, and who can anticipate
how the IRS will react.
10. Can you help someone who is in deep trouble
with the IRS, even someone who has not filed tax returns for many
years or someone who cannot afford to pay their taxes?
Answer: Emphatically, yes.
